The year 2013 flew by and was filled with success. We finished off the year with TWO Highledge dogs in the TOP
FIFTEEN SHELTIES. (as per CANUCK DOG) Titus ranked number NINE and Victoria Secret ranked number THIRTEEN.
Titus (GRAND CH. HIGHLEDGE TITUS CGN) also made Highledge History by becoming our first GRAND CHAMPION.
2013 also saw our second Grand Champion when the beautiful GRAND CH.
HIGHLEDGE VICTORIA SECRET not only finished her Championship at the
tender age of 8 1/2 months, she
accumulated the required points to
be awarded her Grand Championship
by 9 1/2 months. Her wins included
13 Best Puppy in Group, (Ranking her
number SEVEN PUPPY) One Group
First, Four Group Second, Two Group
Third and Four Group Four. We are
VERY proud of all her accomplishments.
Our second Champion for 2013 was CH. HIGHLEDGE GRAND
STAND CGN RN (Isaac) who is co-owned with Sue Pike. Isaac
finished his his Championship quickly shown by both Shirley
Perry and his co-owner Sue Pike. Congratulations to Sue on her
first Conformation Champion and for being brave enough to
step up and show him when Shirley couldn’t be there. Isaac
also added his CGN and RN to his list of titles. Now working with
Sue in performance we look forward to watching for more titles
from this fabulous team..
Our third Champion for 2013 is BPIG CH. HIGHLEDGE PANTS ON FIRE. “PANTS ON FIRE” started her show career at
just six and a half months of age, and in her first ring appearance was awarded BEST PUPPY IN
GROUP. After a number of Reserves Dottie picked up her
first points and continued on to finished her Championship
quickly.
Also shown in 2013 was Dottie’s dam HIGHLEDGE RUMOR HAS
IT, she is now on six points and will be out later in 2014 to
finish her Championship.
The Litter Box was very quiet last year, with only one litter last spring and
then another one at at Christmas. The Beautiful CH.HIGHLEDGE AUDITION,
(IZZIE) was bred to the handsome Bailey son Reinmaur’s Firefighter. That
litter produced our beautiful young hopeful BBPIS HIGHLEDGE HEARTS ON FIRE
(co-owned with Maureen McCaveney). At her very first show HEARTS ON FIRE
was Best Baby Puppy in Group, and the following day repeated her
performance and went on to win Best Baby Puppy in Show.
Although our beautiful “CH. HIGHLEDGE IRISH CREAM ROMC” has been gone now
for almost a year and a half, his influence is still felt. In May of 2013 another
beautiful Bailey son finished his Championship (Ch. Reinmaur's Starfire at
Tarbarka) giving him his twenty first Champion, and litter mate Reinmaur's
Firefighter now has seven points. We miss him everyday.
On July 20th, 2013 we also welcomed a new member to the
Highledge family. A darling little Calico Kitten found her way into
our home and into our hearts. Cleo is pictured at seven months.
Success is never achieved alone. I thank my husband Jim, for
staying home to take care of the dogs while I am off gallivanting
to the shows, and I thank good friend and handler extraordinaire
Shirley Perry for ALWAYS presenting the Highledge gang so
beautifully (this year you went above and beyond campaigning Tori
and taking her as far as she was able to go)
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May you have a Happy & Successful 2014!
Be good to each other and treat everyone as you would like to be treated.
MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!
